The
7U blade enclosure houses up to 10
blade
modules each supporting two Opteron CPUs, two hot swap SATA drives, and
up to 32GB memory with 8 memory sockets. The enclosure has 16 cooling fans,
and a slot for an optional
gigabit network switch.
The
dimmension of of the enclosure is 12.1"x18.5"x29" and it fits
standard 19" racks.
Up to 10 blades modules, 20 CPUs, 80 memory DIMMs and 20 hard drives
can be selected from the configuration below. The memory and CPUs will
be divided equally among the blades. If fewer hard drives than the number
of blades are
selected, then some of the blades will ship without a hard drive.
The enclosure comes with a
chassis management module (CMM) with remote management
capability and embedded KVM function. So local monitor,
keyboard, mouse and KVM switch/monitor is not necessary for the normal
operation though they may add convenience.
