The
7U blade enclosure houses up to 10
blade
modules each supporting four Opteron CPUs, one hot swap 2.5 SATA drive, and
up to 64GB memory with 16 memory sockets. The blade enclosure also has
slots for an optional
gigabit network switch.
The
dimmension of of the enclosure is 12.1"x18.5"x29" and it fits
standard 19" racks.
It comes with 16 cooling fans and four 2000W redundant power supplies.
Up to 10 blades modules, 40 CPUs, 160 memory DIMMs and 10 hard drives
can be selected from the configuration below. The memory and CPUs will
be divided equally among the blades. If fewer hard drives than the number
of blades are
selected, then some of the blades will ship without a hard drive.
The enclosure comes with a
chassis management module (CMM) with remote management
capability and embedded KVM function. So local monitor,
keyboard, mouse and KVM switch/monitor is not necessary for the normal
operation though they may add convenience.
